From Mike’s early teens, he had a huge heart to serve the Lord. At 14, Mike served as youth pastor and led song services in his church. With his pastors’ encouragement, Mike prepared himself to serve the Lord in full-time ministry.
However, God’s plan was to first prepare him extensively through secular education in business administration, finance, real estate, and by serving in the Air Force. After working for years in insurance, he graduated first from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in business and then from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a degree in Christian education. After hearing a missionary message during his time at SAGU, a clear call came to him for missionary service. He and Becky pastored a church in South Dallas for three years in preparation for their transition to foreign missions.
Mike and Becky served for 35 years in Mexico as church planters and in transformational city-wide crusades. They led compassion ministries teams to reach out to orphans, the elderly and to feed hungry children. By building mobile kitchens to place in public school properties in Matamoros Mexico, Mike and Becky were given complete freedom to proclaim the Good News to the student bodies and their families. Thousands of children and adults received Christ.
Over their 38 years in Mexico, they founded Bethesda Institute in Guadalajara, planted dozens of churches through tent crusades, built 64 churches, directed 32 citywide crusades, build seven Bible school facilities, and worked with the highest level of city leaders in many cities, giving them the opportunity to exemplify the love of the Heavenly Father and the Kingdom of God.
Now, at this time, the call to reach America with the light of the Gospel resounds in his heart! The Spirit of the Lord has pulled back the curtain and revealed to Mike the darkness upon our country that has brought mourning to the Lord of the Harvest. Mike knows he must obey the directive of the Holy Spirit to respond to the call to minister to cities across America.
Becky is a Licensed Professional Counselor, an ordained minister, and an endorsed Chaplain with the Assemblies of God. She received a AA in journalism, a BA in Cross Cultural Communication, and an MS in Counseling Psychology. Becky’s upbringing, education, secular professional accomplishments, and experience in ministry all contribute to her preparedness to develop a counseling center based in the Austin, Texas area.
Growing up in a pastors’ home and serving in their local church gave Becky the “inside” perspective of ministers and their families. While serving together with her husband Mike as youth pastors and lead pastors for five years, she provided pastoral counseling in the churches.
While serving as an Assemblies of God missionary in Mexico for 38 years, she directed the Bible school choir, served as president of the Agape Women’s Fellowship in Guadalajara, traveled and assisted in mass crusades of evangelism and church planning in Mexico and Argentina, and served in a professional capacity as a counselor to refugee youth from Central America.
After returning to the US, Becky became a licensed Christian counselor and provided professional and pastoral counseling. In 2018, she opened a counseling office in Georgetown, Texas, located on the north side of Austin. Her ministry guides families into healthy relationships. She also serves pastors, missionaries, and first responders who also receive spirit guided counseling. In addition, Becky serves in detention centers where she counsels hundreds of undocumented immigrant children every year.
As much as Becky received a call to foreign missions when she was 11-years-old, today she hears the voice of the Holy Spirit directing her to missions with the Assemblies of God U.S. Missions to utilize all she has experienced and accomplished in the development of a counseling center for pastors, missionaries, and first responders and also for members of the public who are receptive to professional Christian counseling.
